Begin the activity
Step 1: Email instructions to your students
To assign the activity to your students, email them:
- This web page for the activity plan
- Ask your students to share a reflection (usually a short 1-5 sentence written response to a prompt)
- Instructions on how you'd like to receive their reflections
- Reflection prompt (ie: What did you learn today that will help you on your career path?)
- A reminder that they should keep track of their reflections so that they can read them later which will help them for their Project Status Reports and the "growth" portion of their Final Presentation.
Example email:
Step 2: Set up a CareerVillage Assignment to track student completion
Because Assignments on CareerVillage trigger email notifications to students, we recommend setting up the Assignment after you email the students instructions (Step 1 above).
- Go to your Educator Dashboard
- Create an assignment type: Ask Questions
- Number of questions: We recommend 2, but you can pick another number if you want
- Assignment description (example copy): Ask 2 career related questions. Be sure to provide a detailed description so that professionals answering your questions will know more about you and can personalize their advice. Pro tip: Say thank you when you receive an answer - this is always a good practice and habit!
